Citroen C2 and C3 Power Steering Rack Exchange
The modern Electric Power Steering (EPS) was introduced to replace the traditional Hydraulic Power Steering system, and consisits of a Power Steering Rack with an electric motor, Power Steering Pump and high pressure & low pressure hydraulic pipes which connect them together. Electric steering is more economical to run, and easier to package and install than the conventional hydraulic power steering systems and it is known to be commonly used on the Citroen C2 & C3. The system is linked with a Steering column (shaft) which is what the steering wheel is fixed to at the user-end.
When trying to identify the issues with a Power Steering Rack, it may also be useful to be aware of issues that can occur with a Power Steering pump in order to identify whether it is actually the rack that is defective.
